Meanwhile… is a cycle of interconnected short stories set in Jerusalem, where life rarely resolves itself and yet keeps going anyway.
An aging narrator walks the streets with his old dog, Kito. They notice small things: coffee cups, garbage bins, cabbage rolls, shoelaces, half-finished prayers. In these ordinary objects hide grief, memory, history, and the stubborn fact that the world does not stop for anyone.
With dry humor and gentle clarity, Natan Kellermann writes about what it means to live inside the unresolved—to wait, to doubt, to adjust our expectations while history continues on its own track. These stories offer a humane, quietly observant, non-political portrait of Jerusalem life, seen from the kitchen table, the swimming pool, and the slow walks home at night.
For readers who appreciate quiet philosophical fiction, humane irony, and stories that linger after they end.
Natan Kellermann is a retired clinical psychologist and psychodramatist, born in Sweden and now living in Jerusalem. After publishing academic books and articles, he turned to literary fiction and has written five psychological novels about life’s unfinished stories. Meanwhile… is his first collection of short stories.
